About Crimeland.caOne of the things I like to do in my spare time, when I have it, is read about crime, including local crime, organized crime, terrorism, espionage, and all manner of unsavoury activities. I also like to keep informed on such topics as disease outbreaks, food recalls, and other threats. I wanted to set something up to allow me to easily manage my newsfeeds and bookmarks, but as it's quite a bit of work I decided I'd share it so that others who had the same interests could also benefit. Part of my motivation was discussions with friends about some of the subjects, as frequently most or none of us had any idea that such activites were taking place. I guess you could classify this site as a blog open to the public; the newsfeeds pull articles from world news sources, and the discussion forums allow anyone to post a link to any article they've read and share their thoughts and opinions with others. Yes, you can disagree with what others have posted. Jump in and have your say; just keep things civil. It's good to see both sides of a story; if everyone thought the same way, the world would be a boring place. Crimeland.ca has been online since January 17, 2008. Register now to post and comment. |
